How to authenticate this pressing
Specific verification cues for this exact variant.
Two identifying clues can be found on the label:
The rim text "Made by E.M.I. (Australia) Limited, Sydney, N.S.W." definitively identifies the country of origin. It runs at the top of the rim, just below the apple stem. No other edition has this format.
The catalog number is PCSO-7096 with the letter "O" instead of the British PCS 7096. The letter "O" before the dash is consistent with the Australian edition and distinguishes it from the British edition, even though the label appears similar at first glance.
Important: all Australian sleeves feature the "STEREO" notation above the album title and the "Red Apple Logo" on the rear cover.
Historical context & other notes
The Let It Be box set premiered in Australia on 4 June 1970. The original set consisted of an imported box, outer slipcase and "Get Back" booklet (imported from the UK) under the catalogue number PXS 1, and a locally pressed album under the standard catalogue number PCSO 7096. The included album contained the first two versions of the label (side 2 with a dot next to the producer information "An E.M.I." and without it "An E.M.I"). The album was subsequently released as a standalone product in December of the same year, and the box set was dropped from the catalogue.
