How to authenticate this pressing
Specific verification cues for this exact variant.
The texts at the top of the label, "Fabricado por I.E.M.O. Bs. As." and "Industria Argentina", settle the question of the origin of this release. I.E.M.O. is the Argentine branch of EMI and the local record pressing plant. These two inscriptions together clearly point to Buenos Aires and confirm the place of production.
Historical context & other notes
Argentina marked the sound format on labels. The Beatles' first albums were released there only in mono, and when stereo versions appeared, the word "ESTEREO" was added to the label and a sticker was affixed to the cover. For this reason, the mono release's label bears no indication.
The track listing is in Spanish with the English original in parentheses, for example, "Dos De Nosotros" for "Two Of Us," and the band is called as "Los Beatles (Interpretes)."
