The catalog number 3C 062-04433 Y with the 3C prefix directly indicates the record's origin. The "3C" prefix is assigned to Italy in EMI's pan-European numbering system (Germany had 1C, France 2C, the Netherlands 5C, and Italy 3C).
The rim text "Fabbricato in Italia" and "Distribuzione E.M.I. Italiana" also confirm that this is an Italian edition. The rest of the text around the label is also in Italian, with a clause stating that the rights of the record producer are reserved and that reproduction, broadcasting, and public performance are prohibited.
The final clue is the S.I.A.E. logo frame on the label. S.I.A.E., Società Italiana degli Autori ed Editori, is the Italian collective rights management organization. It fulfills the role that GEMA did for the German edition and BIEM for the French edition, and is an immediate identifying mark for the Italian market.
Historical context & other notes
Within the Italian release, there are at least two label variants, differing in the audio format designation on the right side of the label. The first variant has "STEREO / MONO" framed together. The second variant, in turn, has "STEREO" framed alone. According to collectors, the "STEREO / MONO" variant is associated with the earliest records, those from the box set, and likely the first batch of standalone releases without a box, while the "STEREO" variant is later. However, we have no definitive source confirmation of this.
The S.I.A.E. logo appeared on Italian vinyl records around early February 1970.
