How to authenticate this pressing

Specific verification cues for this exact variant.

Country of Origin Identification Features:

  1. A dark, brownish-red apple on a black background. The American label for Let It Be is not the green Apple Records apple known from the British and European releases, but a dark, reddish-brown apple. Side 1 has a whole apple, apple on a side 2 is cut in half.
  2. Catalog number AR 34001. The United States, like Japan, did not inherit the British PCS number 7096 nor use the European numbering system 062-04433. The album received its own American number, AR 34001.
  3. “BMI” and “Mfd. by Apple Records, Inc.” Each title is marked with the abbreviation “BMI,” the designation of the American performing rights organization: Broadcast Music, Inc. At the bottom of the label there is the phrase "Mfd. by Apple Records, Inc." Both elements are characteristic of the American market.

The first pressing has the abbreviation "(P.D.)" next to the song "Maggie Mae". The second pressing has the text expanded to "P.D. arr. Lennon, McCartney, Harrison, Starkey".
