Historical context & other notes
From the main release
Choba B CCCP (also known as The Russian Album) is Paul McCartney's seventh solo studio album, originally released in 1988 exclusively in the Soviet Union. The album consists entirely of cover versions, primarily of rock and roll hits (similar to John Lennon's 1975 album Rock 'n' Roll).
McCartney had not intended to release the album outside the USSR, but after the fall of the Iron Curtain, Снова В СССР was released worldwide in 1991, reaching number 63 in the UK charts and number 109 in the US.
