How to authenticate this pressing
Specific verification cues for this exact variant.
Twenty-two tracks were recorded during the recording sessions, but only 11 were originally included on the album. The second Soviet reissue, released in December 1988, increased the number of tracks to 13, adding "I'm Gonna Be a Wheel Someday" and "Summertime." By examining the track listing on the back cover, we can identify the original release.
Historical context & other notes
Choba B CCCP (also known as The Russian Album) is Paul McCartney's seventh solo studio album, originally released in 1988 exclusively in the Soviet Union. The album consists entirely of cover versions, primarily of rock and roll hits (similar to John Lennon's 1975 album Rock 'n' Roll).
McCartney had not intended to release the album outside the USSR, but after the fall of the Iron Curtain, Снова В СССР was released worldwide in 1991, reaching number 63 in the UK charts and number 109 in the US.
