The almost unheard single by Polskie Nagrania Muza, released under catalog number SP-494, features a Hungarian-language version (although the title is in English, „The World Watchmaker”) of Tadeusz Woźniak’s hit „Zegarmistrz Światło” (on side B), which Locomotiv GT performed at the 1973 Sopot Festival. I found it on Facebook in a second-hand bookstore in Opole in Poland.
Side A of this single features the funk song „Ringasd El Magad,” the title track of the band’s second album, released in 1972. There’s a curious fact about this song that I stumbled upon quite by accident while browsing various websites. It turns out that this particular song was very popular in Cuba in the early 1970s, and Locomotiv GT was one of the few rock bands allowed on the radio at the time (when Western music was officially banned by the communist regime). This makes such a publication even more valuable as a collector’s item.
