From the main release
Despite its title, The Beatles in Italy is not a live album, but rather a compilation of previously published recordings. The album was released in 1965 to take advantage of the band's performance in Italy during their European tour and the premiere of the "Help!" movie. The album consists entirely of songs released earlier on singles and EPs that were never collected on one LP. All original copies of this album were mono only.
