Some call Making Movies an album without a hit that became a hit in its own right, but that's not entirely true. No one would deny that the album's centerpiece is the catchy "Romeo and Juliet," which undoubtedly is one of the most moving and melancholic love songs in rock history. Making Movies is the fruit of Mark Knopfler's top form as a songwriter and composer, and the album's sound is tighter and more expansive than anything the band had previously achieved.
