Historical context & other notes

"The next rock sensation is coming from the East, not the West!" – this is what Roy Carr, one of England's most authoritative rock music journalists, wrote about Locomotiv GT in the New Musical Express (August 12, 1972). The prediction almost came true, as no other Hungarian band came as close to world fame as this supergroup. It all began when LGT performed at the London Music Festival in 1973. The entire evening was recorded by the Rolling Stones' then-producer, Jimmy Miller, who, after seeing and listening to the Hungarian band's concert, immediately signed with them a recording contract, and soon after, the group began working on a English-language material.

The album was recorded at CBS Studios in London and mixed at De Lane Lea Studios in Wembley, England. The entire project was overseen by Miller himself, who has worked on albums by The Rolling Stones, Traffic, Blind Faith, Spooky Tooth, Plasmatics, Primal Scream, and Motörhead, and co-produced by Andy Johns, whose work includes The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Free, Rod Stewart, Van Halen, and Guns N' Roses. As if that weren't enough, the album featured a guest appearance by Cream bassist Jack Bruce, who played harmonica on the track "She's Just 14." The material for the album was taken almost entirely from the Hungarian album Bummm!.
